Dmitry Cheremeteff dancer, teacher and choreographer in classical ballet, modern jazz and character dance balletmaster (STTL ry.) Born in Berlin, Germany, of White Russian parents.   Dmitry Cheremeteff started his dancing insruction with his mother at the age of seven, and his theatrical career at the age of fourteen at the dance school of Tatiana Gsovsky. Prior to that Mr. Cheremeteff worked, when high school permitted, as a junior actor at professional theatres in Berlin. He subssequently completed his dancer´s test in Berlin with honors, and later took many teaching and choreographic courses in Europe and the U.S.A. Mr. Cheremeteff has taught and given lectures on dance and stagecraft, and has performed in concerts in the U.S.A. and Canada, and many european countries. Career highlights Germany Munich National Theatre: "The Chinese Nightingale" by Werner Egk, choreography by Tatiana Gsovsky, the young emperor. Berlin Kurfuerstendamm Theatre: "Fips mit der Angel", Negus and many others Sweden Malmö Stadsteatern: Merry Widow, The Land of Smiles, Zar und Zimmerman, Camelia Lady, Annie Get Your Gun, Gypsy Baron, Prince Igor, Madame Butterfly, leaving Malmö Mr.. Cheremeteff was engaged by the swedish Riksteatern as a soloist for their production of the "Merry Widow". Gothernburg Stora Teatern: Kismet, Can Can, Student Prince, Vagabond King, Carmen, Rigoletto, Merry Widow, Desert Song, Birdseller, Le Beau Danube(by Leonide Massine) Royal Swedish Opera Stockholm (11 years): Swan Lake, Strömkarlen, Harlekins Death, Gaîté Parisienne, Les Noces, The Taming of the Shrew, Onegin, Firebird and many others productions, also at Drottingholm´s Slottstheater. (Tour of: Greece, Italy, U.S.A., Canada, etc.) In 1983 Mr. Cheremeteff was pensioned from the Royal Swedish Ballet. Toronto: Cool for Cats, Commercials, several Fifeshire Motion Picture: Holiday C.B.C Montreal (Radio Canada): Merry Widow", Tête D’Affiche Windsor: Lead Dancer and Assistant Choreographer at the "Top Hat Superclub" and staging at "The Metropole", 7 months Calgary and Edmonton: Several guest appearances at the Jubilee Auditorium and McCleary Auditorium, One season Ballet and Jazz teacher at the "Calgary Russian Ballet School"   U.S.A. New York: Two seasons with the "Zachary Solov Ballet Ensemble" under the auspices of Sol Hurok, soloist. The Merry Widow Lead Dancer, at N.Y. State Theatre, a Richard Rogers production.  Also on tour two seasons through the U.S.A. Buffalo: Melody Fair, Redhead, Pal Joey, Carousel, Desert Song, Gentlemen Prefer Blonds, South Pacific, Destry Rides Again, Take Me Along, Wish You Were Here, Naughty Marietta, Once Upon a Mattress, Music Man, Can Can, Anything Goes, etc.   Finland Tampere:  Director of the Tampereen Teattereiden Liikunta- ja Balettikoulu as well as the dance company connected with it. Also staging and extensive choreography for TV and theatres. Ballet guestteacher at the "Balettiopisto Birgitta Kiviniemi" several times. Helsinki: Choreography and direction of "HAIR" for the Swedish Theatre (Svenska Teatern), Choreography for TV 1 and TV 2 (Yleisradio).   Switzerland Opernhaus Zuerich:  Nutcracker", spanish, Carmina Burana, several parts Stadttheater Bern: Hiroshima, Opus 35, Les Petits Riens, The Fountain of Bakchhisarai. Also teaching company classes, as well as jazz-classes at the Halamka School of Dance. Lately Mr. Cheremeteff has been teaching guest balletclasses in Finland, Switzerland, France, Italy and Germany.
